From Thursday, November 28, 2019 till Sunday, January 20, 2020, the 8th edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival will again take place in the Amsterdam canals. In the city center, many light artists display their talents with light artworks. We will make a luxury cruise along the illuminated sailing route called “Water Colors” along all these works of art. The founder of the Amsterdam Light Festival is your own captain.
In 2009 Vincent Horbach, owner of the Gentleman’s Launch Avanti, has the feeling that more should happen in Amsterdam during the winter. Together with Henk Jan Buchel, they organized the very first Christmas Canal Parade with the intention of making this a major festival. In 2010 this Parade was expanded under their leadership under the new name “Winter Magic Amsterdam”. The first piece of art sees the “light”. The Magere Brug was artistically highlighted for 3 weeks and the idea for the Light Festival Amsterdam was born. The tour boats cruised artfully lit for the first time.
